Welcome to Whisker City
Super Sunday for Whisker City!
Come join Whisker City for our annual Super Bowl party! This year we'll have our fundraiser at Mick Finster's Bar & Grill. They are past supporters of Whisker City and we are thrilled to be there this year!
Mick Finster's is easy to find: 24001 Highway 99 in Edmonds, right next to Burlington Coat Factory on the King-Snohomish County line. Kickoff is at 3:30pm on Sunday, February 5th and features the New England Patriots against the New York Giants. 710 ESPN Radio's Mike Brown will host.
As always we feature free admission, a free football pool and free giveaways. We'll also have a raffle and silent auction, with all the money going to Whisker City's rescue and adoption efforts.
Mick Finster's features a full bar with an outstanding menu. Beer and drink specials will be featured for the big game! And there are lots of TV monitors to make sure you see every play in Super Bowl XLVI.
Auction items this year include an autographed guitar by Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam 20-year commemorative collector items, signed football by Jake Locker, signed baseball by Jay Buhner, and an autographed basketball from Detlef Schremf.
It's gonna be a great time so come out and join us!
WHISKER CITY CAUGHT LITTERING
Four little kittens were welcomed into the world at Whisker City on October 20th!
"Boots", a stray momma who was found wandering the streets of West Seattle, was rescued and found to be very pregnant. The folks who found her contacted Whisker City and we found space to accommodate Boots, who soon gave birth to her four little ones.
In anticipation of the upcoming Holidays, the litter was given pumpkin pie spice names: Nutmeg, Ginger, Clove and Mace. The litter features two black, one gray and one gray & white kittens. The future is bright for Mom and her kittens: Boots will be welcomed into the home of the folks who found her, while the kittens, always easily adopted, will be available for their forever homes in late January.
CAT CORNER
This is Benny, a 7 year old orange, short haired male. Benny was born at Whisker City and soon adopted. However, the owners lost their home and had to move in with family, who already had more than their share of pets.
So Benny came back to Whisker City where he is hoping to get a second chance. He is a handsome fella who insists on being the only cat in a home, but he promises to return the favor with lots of love and affection! Benny is regularly on the Whiskers on Wheels bus, or you can find out more by calling 206-542-0947 M-F between 10am-5pm.
Whiskers on Wheels
The Whiskers on Wheels project was started in the fall
of 2004 supported with money from Maddies Fund. Since then
we have placed over 700 previously unwanted cats into loving
homes! Sadly, The Whiskers on Wheels adoption bus is currently
parked due to lack of funding. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that the WOW bus is available for special
events like grand openings, employee appreciation day and
festivals for a donation of $250 per day. Please contact
April Brown at 206-235-4697 for more information. Email whiskercity@comcast.net.
Reserve Whiskers on Wheels and helps us find forever homes.
