Volunteer

​Volunteers are the soul of our organization, and we are happy you are considering joining our family! As a Whisker City volunteer you are in a unique position to make a real difference in both the life of a pet and the family who will one day bring them home. The goal of our volunteer program is to engage compassionate animal lovers – just like you! We want your volunteer experience to be a rewarding one and we need you to help us in our mission to safeguard, rescue, shelter, heal, adopt and advocate for animals in need!

Volunteer Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Complete the volunteer application
• Attend a volunteer orientation and training session.
• 1 year commitment
• A minimum of 5 hours of service each month
• Have strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team

• Positive attitude
• Attention to detail
• Basic computer skills and an active email addres
• Willingness to help with chores (grooming the kitties, cleaning, etc.)

Volunteers are also needed in these areas of service:

• Drivers for needed veterinary care
• Foster care
• Adoption follow-up
• Creative writing for social media, newsletters
• Photographers
  
  

Indoor/ outdoor facility care:

• Facility maintenance
• Gardening
• Light repairs

Committees are needed for:

• Fundraising
• Maintenance
• Construction projects
